Bear hugs, candy kisses, excited laughter. No bias, no pretense. Unconditional trust. All in the sparkle of the eye. You've got to celebrate that. Daily.

It takes all kinds of mothers to rock the cradle and tell the story of our lives. Otherwise, we all quack up.
My initiation into journalism began as a college news reporter, which led to a professional career as a community news assistant editor, mostly covering school news. Years later, and several parttime jobs to keep the bills paid, freelance writing fulfilled my life's goal to become self-employed. Over the years there have been hardships and much joy as a staff reporter and correspondent covering hard news, features, business and community news at daily, weekly and monthly publications -- Mississippi Press, Sun Herald, Coast Business Journal, Gulf Coast Good News, Jackson Advocate, and WKFK TV. Now, the aim is to provide a more personal look about and assistance for the lives of South Mississippi residents.
